Amy founded NOLA Bloom out of a love for New Orleans And a desire to help the city she loves grow and bloom based on the success of small and medium sized businesses.
Originally from North Carolina, Amy grew up in a small town in the eastern part of the state. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from East Carolina University and then moved to Richmond, Virginia to work in Human Resources with a Fortune 200 company.
In 2000, she made a move to New Orleans to pursue a new adventure for what was to be a couple of years. It has now turned into 16 years with a small break to move to New York for two years. During her time here she has continued to work in a large company and expand her knowledge. In addition, she continued her formal education by earning a Master’s in Business Administration from The University of New Orleans.
Her love of New Orleans was never as strong as during and after Katrina. While a difficult time for all, the years since have brought many budding entrepreneurs and new businesses to New Orleans. After some of Amy’s friends opened businesses, she realized the value of successful and strong smaller businesses in the New Orleans. They are the heart of the economy.
After seeing the renaissance of new businesses in New Orleans, Amy realized she had a unique skill set to assist small business optimize their returns and bloom. Her career in Human Resource and project management at Fortune 500 companies left her with the abilities. Her desire to help small businesses succeed and grow the economy left her with the passion.
Amy loves the flavor of the Crescent City, loves the Saints, loves good wine and time spent with friends and she doesn’t plan to leave….ever.
